My friend has big family problems!?

My friend became pregnant in Dec 2009 when she was 16. Then, her parents took her phone so her boyfriend bought her a blackberry in June 2010. She had an early delivery in July and the baby had Trisomy 18 and died in August. My friend got in a fight with her parents the day of the funeral and left with her boyfriend. She lived in an apartment from August to December. Her parents wanted to talk the end of December and she went over to their house. They trapped her there and the cops came and made her stay. They said she would go to juvy is she ran away. The beginning of Jan, it got physical with her mom and sister and the cops still didn't do anything. One day, her brother reached into her pocket and took her phone(bf pays the bill) and gave it to parents. The phone had a memory card in it with pictures of the baby and it is the only thing wwith pictures of my friend's pregnant belly on it. My friend just thought she had lost it at the grocery store and someone stole it so she was very upset. A few days later, she found out that her parents actually had it. They got in a fight towards the end of Jan and dropped her off at her apartment(which the bf pays for and he paid for everything aug to dec and now) and left her. She had to find somebody to use their phone to call her bf. Now, she really needs a phone and it is expensive to buy a new one b/c she had her phone contract for less than a year. Her mom says she threw the phone in a creek and has the card. My friend is still a minor also. Should her boyfriend have to buy her a new phone or her parents? How and what could he sue her parents for? Her 18th birthday is the end of March. Could her parents send the cops the the apt looking for her? If she "ran" and didn't get caught until she turned 18. What legally could be done? We live in Mississippi. Thanks for your advice in advance.
