My Dad and I want to fish the John Day River.?

I've fished the John Day but don't recall any lodging of *any kind.* There are many very good pull outs where you can camp, many of those with camping facilities, i.e., portapotties, grilles, etc.,. BTW...June would be a good time to try for small mouth bass on the JD. Check with local fisherman for what lures/bait are hot. I always had good luck with various colored weighted jigs with tails.
