What are some creatures that live in shallow creeks?

I meant actually in shallow creeks not around shallow creeks. Last summer my parents took me to the catskill mountains and my camp was near a shallow creek like 6 inches deep with lots of rocks and dirt that's dry even in water. Now I'm writing a book and I need to know what creatures are inside creeks like that. The only ones I saw were tiny little frogs and lots of little pond skaters. Please only list the harmless ones not the ones that chew on your skin or something. Thanks.
