Really creepy woods , what happened to my happy memories?

Well when I was 6 I always use to go on this trail with my older friend...we would cross the creek on a old tree that fell down. And play in the creek sometimes to , collecting the shells. And there was this trail surrounded by bamboo , it was really pretty , and when you go to the end it was a huge mud pit I loved to jump into and get dirty. It was always fun....now 6 years later after my friend went off to college , I went to the same place with my friends (Always bring a friend into woods , they die first in scary movies) well It was just plain creepy! The tree we crossed was gone (No clue how) so we had to walk through the shallow water in the middle of winter , and somewhere in the middle of the creek was a dead COW! We didn't notice it till it was a few feet away because it blended in so well , and it was eaten out on the inside...probably 500 lbs or more. Oh it was scary! So I found the place where the bamboo is , and there's a hunter thing where hunters sit in and shoot....its in camouflage and everything. So I urged on trying to see what I could remember , and I see a square camouflage tent in the woods...in the middle of NOWHERE (No one goes on that trail..no one knows about it..I know everyone in the neighborhood) so my friend looks in and there's a chair and a shot gun inside...I have no clue where the person who was in it went...and then we heard some four wheelers , growling , and dogs so we left in a hurry. The next day the tent and gun was still there but no sign of the person. Keep in mind all through the trails its criss crossed with a big creek. And we saw: Sonic bags , soccer balls , volley balls , toy guns , etc all through the woods , again in the middle of NOWHERE , what happen to the place I use to love? Now its the scary woods...What do you think?
