Help! my upper lip is cherry red!?

I waxed my upper lip last night and it is still flaming red! It also burns like it's really dry, irritated skin. I'm no stranger to waxing, but usually I take a shower before hand. My guess on why it's so irritated this time is because my pores weren't open at all. I have to go back to school tomorrow, does anyone know how I can soothe this??
